Pump House Bed and Breakfast
Pump House is a recently established bed and breakfast and has very quickly become a popular wedding venue. We offer a very unique and individualistic experience, from the ceremony in the woods along the Catawissa Creek to the reception in the historic artist studio. For more photos you can view our website at www.pumphousebandb.com, or see photos on Instagram, Pinterest and photos on TripAdvisor. We’re also delighted to have been featured in This Old House magazine and on WNEP-TV.
We would love to meet with you and talk about your wedding and reception ideas. If you are not too far away, please come visit! We are happy to work with any vendors that you choose - if you’re looking for suggestions or recommendations, we have a vendor list on the Pump House’s websites which has many tried and true photographers, caterers, and more. But you’re not limited to these vendors - we love meeting new people (and trying new food).
The off-season extends from the third weekend in November to the second weekend in April. Our off-season wedding packages begin at $2,500.00 (with a $2,000 deposit for 2016 dates) for a wedding which includes both suites for two nights as well as the 1,600 square foot Celebration Space, forty round and rectangular tables, up to 200 white wooden chairs and 180 antique oak chairs, plus the entirety of the Pump House grounds for the weekend -Friday evening to Sunday noon. The Celebration Space easily holds 100 people for a sit-down dinner and up to 150 for cocktails; the newly-restored Brick Barn (which seats 160 to 180) is also available for an additional charge of $800. We have found that bridal parties enjoy the Celebration Space for dancing/partying (since there’s a wooden floor - much easier on the bones) and the Brick Barn for the reception, since the lighting in the cathedral ceiling is so dramatic.
There are four rooms in the Season House for friends or family to rent; three of the rooms have a double bed and a double futon, while one room has a double bed only. The rooms are available at double occupancy for $135 a night plus tax. A recent addition to the Pump House sleeping quarters is the Manifold House, a standalone brick building with a fully functional suite including kitchenette, bathroom (including a beautiful tiled shower), queen bed, and futon. The Manifold House is yours for $155 a night plus hotel tax. We offer camping on our grounds for free; for $15 a head, campers are welcome to our fabulous multi-course hot breakfast!
The Catawissa Suite (sleeps 4 but the newlyweds usually choose this for their own) and Studio Suite (sleeps 3) are included in the wedding package. You choose who will stay on the grounds. In the Season House, the Sleigh and Canopy Suites each sleep 4. The Purple Room sleeps 2. Amy’s Room sleeps two comfortably; two additional folks could sleep on the futon, but it would be pretty close quarters. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, and there are also two public bathrooms; neither of those has a shower, however, so campers would have to rely on the kindness of other guests if they want to bathe. Though two of the Season House rooms are larger, we charge the same for every room, so you can choose where you’d like your guests to stay! There are also five or six hotels and B&Bs in Bloomsburg, a nearby town, and a motel near the Millville exit. We don’t recommend any hotel over another.
We are unique in that we allow outside vendors, and we give you the whole property for the entire weekend up to noon on Sunday. That way it isn’t necessary for you to rent another venue for your rehearsal dinner. There is a fire ring out back where you and your friends can gather after the old folks go home - you can stay up late and whoop it up for as long as you like, since we are out in the country and you won’t have to worry about making too much noise!
We specialize in hosting very unique and individualistic events. No cookie cutter weddings here; it’s always exciting to see everyone’s personality and style shine in the choices on decorating and catering. Some of the best catering choices in the area are Elizabeth’s Bistro, Balzanos, Townside Cafe, Mayberry Hospitality, Susquehanna Chef, and 14-Acre Farm for organic choices. Some caterers’ prices start as low as $15.00 per person. I strongly suggest you sample the food first; that way you can decide exactly what you like. Our helpful vendor list can be viewed on the ‘FAQ’ page of our website, but the caterers, photographers, cake decorators and all the others are only suggestions! We’re happy to work with any vendor you choose.
We recommend that you hire a wedding planner so that you can enjoy your memorable day in as relaxed and stress-free a way as possible. Please call us with questions, as well as for pricing for larger weddings of more than 180 guests.
